In fulfilling the Firm’s mission, the experienced Bookkeeper/Accounting Associate works with various clients through Small Business Services in a professional and friendly manner. The overall responsibilities will vary based on client needs but may include handling multiple payrolls, bookkeeping duties, general ledger entries, taxes such as sales, payroll, city and county business, various project work and other duties. The Bookkeeper – Accounting Associate supports the Firm’s goals and values through all professional communications and positive working relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engagement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, and expense reports ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assists in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation and filling of tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Preform financial analysis, such as variance analysis and trend analysis, to identify areas of improvement and potential risks.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, providing input on expense forecasts and financial projections.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity and professionalism.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
BUSINESS PROMOTION AND GROWTH
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to provide necessary financial information and support during audits.
- Assis in implementing and improving accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance and provide recommendations for process improvements.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree in accounting or related equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
- Typically, a minimum of 5 year’s work experience in bookkeeping or accounting related responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Adobe, and QuickBooks
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills both professionally and personally
- Ability to manage priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to research questions/issues.
- Professional and pleasant demeanor; strong interpersonal skills – ability to meet with clients and provide successful resolution to questions and concerns.
- Knowledgeable with regulatory guidelines
- Ability to work well independently without supervision yet function as part of a team
- Strong data entry and keying skills
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Reliable transportation: ability to travel locally periodically to client sites as needed
